Journal 1
My classes seem pretty fun and I enjoy them a lot. Junior has been the only year that it seems like I'm learning in my classes and obtaining good information. I also enjoy all the information that I am learning.

So far my favorite class is probably Stagecraft or Photo II because they kind of allow me to express myself in a way that i can't express in my other classes. I really like those classes because they're fun as well.

Building my website was easy because I already knew what to do from the first year that I had done it. It was also easy because I knew where everything was and and all I had to do was put it in place.

I think the nicest picture i have taken was this one of one my really close friends for my portfolio and I took it when she was in the middle of laughing and she looks really pretty and it was caught in the moment.
I'm really interested in candid photography because I like those in the moment pictures where you can capture a persons true emotion through a picture. I think when you catch a person showing true emotion that's when they look their best.

I might hang out with my friends over labor day or just stay home and relax because this is my first break off. I don't have any specific plans though.

Blur motion is an image that is taken with slowed down shutter speed that focuses on one thing and and makes the rest blurry.
You just need to adjust the shutter speed accordingly and a person moving.
Your subject is going to be a person or really anything that can move and it will be moving quickly to achieve the motion blur.
You adjust the shutter speed to a lower setting in your camera so you can get the picture of your liking.
This is a squirrel that was running and leaping across the grass. It was taken with a low shutter speed as it was jumping.

Advanced Lighting journal
-
I think photographers draw with light by lowering the shutter speed and moving a light source around in shapes in order to create a drawing or words.
-
This technique is called light graffiti. I think it’s called this because you are drawing with light. You are doing the same motions as regular graffiti but with light instead of spray paint.
-
One person is taking the picture while another person is moving/drawing with the light source.
-
Color does effect how the viewer views an image because colors can submit certain emotions. Such as how blue can be see as quiet and sad.
-
Colors do resemble emotions because of the feelings a person feels when they see a certain color. Bright colors can be seen as happy and darker colors can be seen as angry and sad.
-
I think you add the color by having a colored light available instead of a regular light. You use the colored light as a replacement to the regular light.
-
I think you can use the exposure triangle with these techniques by adjusting the variables. Like lowering the IOS and shutter.
-
You can reflect light with another light source such as a flashlight angled on the reflected surface. The light reflects off and onto the subject.
-
You draw with light by lowering the shutter speed and having another person move some sort of light source into shapes when you take the photo.
-
The exposure triangle is the components of shutter speed, ISO and aperture. They can be adjusted to get the desired effect of a photograph.
-
The exposure triangle helped me while shooting by allowing me to take light graffiti photos and determining how much light is getting though.
-
I do think adding color to the images adds a more dramatic element to it by helping the viewer express and feel more/ certain emotions when looking at the picture.
-
Color light can be use an interpretation of emotions. Colors can bring up emotions in people.
-
What I found hard about directing my model to create my vision was the fact of trying to come up with ideas to create.
-
It wasn’t difficult to work with the strand lights. It was easy to photograph the subject and the lights when someone else illuminated the subject with another light so it wasn’t so dark.
-
I think you can use CD reflection outside for a photoshoot because the CD just needs another light source to help it reflect off onto the subject.
1st Independent project
1. What did you pick to do your project on? Explain why you chose it. I chose to take pictures of random things and then edit them to look like polaroids.
2. What did you do to get the image? Explain. I just took random pictures.
3. What editing did you have to do to your images? Explain why they needed that kind of editing. I have to edit a polaroid frame around it and change the filter.
4. What did you learn about this kind of photography by shooting it? Explain. I learned more about how to take better pictures.
5. Was there anything you found difficult about creating these images? Explain why. There wasn't anything difficult just the photoshopping.
6. How do you think they came out overall? Could they be better? Why? Explain it. I think i should've spent mote time editing but overall it came out good.
7. What are you thinking about doing for your next independent project? Explain your idea. For my next project I want to take self portraits of photo i pictures that i have of myself.
